Would you like to make chocolate cakes? Help is at hand.

Here is a copy of a recipe written by a Year Two pupil.

How to make the universes best chocolate cakes.

Have you been crying in the kitchen for hours just because your chocolate cakes never rise? Well read these instructions and you too will be able to make the best chocolate cake ever.

What you need

  • 60g coco powder
  • 4 – 5 tbsp boiling hot water
  • 175g butter
  • 175g caster sugar
  • 120g Self raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 eggs

What to do

  1. Mix the coco powder and the boiling hot water until there are no lumps left.
  2. Put the eggs, butter, flour and baking powder into the bowl and whisk up the mixture with the electric whisk.
  3. Carefully put the mixture into the paper cases but only half way up. If you fill the paper cases right up they will overflow when cooked.
  4. Open the oven door and put the paper cases in the oven for ten minutes at 200 C.
  5. Carefully take the cakes out of the oven and place them neatly on a wire rack to cool.
  6. You can then eat the cakes or decorate them.

Now that your light, fluffy cakes have cooled down you might want to decorate them, or you might want to eat them straight away. Have you thought about turning your cakes into animal or Paddington bear cakes? What a fun time you would have!

Enjoy your cakes and have a lovely time.
